It is no secret that our February Meeting is one of my favourites of the year. Members Evening is a succession of surprises, generally pleasant, and is always full of interest.
This year Chris Bloomfield presented a selection of sparkling wines which made it even more interesting for me as I have a well known penchant for ‘fizz’. Most of them came from budget supermarkets and exceeded expectations. English sparkling wines have an increasingly good reputation and the Tintern Parva did not disappoint.
Paddy Hayes brought us a delicious Treixadura from Spain and a selection of reds were presented by John Freeland, Peter Lee-Smith and yours truly.
