Our September meeting was an entertaining and informative visit to Deer Park Vineyard in Eckington, a truly local producer.
Planted in 2016, the vines are split over three plots and we visited the oldest and newest, planted on Cotswold limestone mixed soils which greatly influence the wines. The vines were on the verge of harvest which gave added interest – the fine weather helped too, making it a very pleasant walk.
Following the vineyard tour we tasted some of the wines produced at Deer Park, including the Classic Cuvee Sparkling, The Deer Park Special Reserve, Bacchus and Rose. before heading off for a very enjoyable lunch.
