Once again we gathered in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Pershore, to celebrate the upcoming festivities. Bearing in mind the current situation it was an ideal location as there was plenty of space for members to get together safely.
In a departure from our usual Christmas themes, this year Chile was the source of the wines and many of the excellent dishes members provided for the Buffet. From Empanadas, delicious Black Bean Salad, Pastel de Choclo and a luscious Tres Leches Cakes, not to mention many other delights we dined well.
The wines, chosen by Chris, covered a wide range of those on offer from Chilean Vineyards demonstrating the variety and quality of their vintages. We were all surprised by the Gewurztraminer which was much more approachable than some of it’s European equivalents, and the Pais was universally acclaimed as outstanding value for money!
We also discussed plans for the forthcoming year deciding that, i light of the current increase in COVID case, we will not meet again until February. Several interesting ideas were put forward for future meetings, details will be posted as soon as available.
