Members Evenings are one of the enjoyable meetings of the year for most of us. They always provide interesting discussions centered around equally interesting wines as we all bring along an old favourite, a new discovery or something we want to try in the company of good friends. This year was no exception with members also providing some delicious food to accompany the wines and bring out the best in them.
We had a surprising ‘blind’ tasting with an unusual Pinot Grigio, a pair of Gruner Veltliners to compare, a truly delightful Sherry, wines from far and very near – TIntern Parva. Also a lovely sparkling wine and a classic favourite Rioja all topped off by a truly special Chateau Palmer Alter Ego from 2004. A very enjoyable selection that lived up to the eclectic nature of Members Evening.
